Ambassador John R. Bolton Will Deliver Keynote at INTELNEXUS 2009

INTELNEXUS 2009 is proud to announce that Ambassador John Bolton will deliver the opening keynote address on the evening of September 29, 2009, according to Scott Winchell, Executive Director. The event will be held at the Bedford/Boston Doubletree Hotel in Bedford, MA from September 29 through October 2.

John R. Bolton served as the United States permanent representative to the United Nations from August 1, 2005 until his resignation in December 2006. Prior to his appointment, Bolton served as under secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security from May 2001 to May 2005.

During his tenure at the United Nations, Bolton was a tenacious and outspoken advocate of U.S. efforts to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, push Syria out of Lebanon, and bring African peacekeepers into shaky Somalia. Bolton was a very effective advocate of sanctions against North Korea, moving a strong resolution through the U.N. Security Council within days of Pyongyang's Oct. 9, 2006 nuclear test.

Bolton and France's ambassador led the Security Council to approve a unanimous resolution to end the summer 2006 Hezbollah war on Israel. Bolton successfully executed his orders to stop the combat and authorize U.N. peacekeepers.

Bolton also assembled an international coalition that blocked the bid of Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's Marxist strongman, to join the Security Council.

Previously, Bolton was Senior Vice president of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a nonprofit public policy center dedicated to preserving and strengthening the foundations of freedom through research, education, and open debate.

The 3-day conference will provide a forum for leaders in the intelligence, diplomatic, law enforcement, and business communities to meet on common ground. It will be designed to enable them to share information, and develop collaborative relationships dedicated to ensuring security against terrorism.

Sixteen breakout sessions will be led by some of the leaders in intel processing and counter-terrorism. They will be set up in a round table design to encourage a comfortable exchange of ideas and provide the opportunity for open discussion between the presenter and the conference attendees. The aim is to give each participant the experience of sharing knowledge as well as learning from each other. By experiencing the interchange of ideas in a professional environment, participants will take back with them the idea that through collaboration with other professionals, they can solve their intelligence challenges more quickly and accurately.
