Terror attacks continue in Russia

As more information is gathered about the terrorist attacks on two Russian airliners, a new attack is carried out in Moscow. The continuing terror give some clues about the continuing threat.

On August 31, at about 8 p.m. two cars loaded with explosives were detonated at the entrance to the "Riga" metro station in Central Moscow. 10 people were killed and more than 50 injured.

One of the main versions of the explosions is that it was perpetrated by no other than Roza Nagayeva, sister of Aminat Nagayeva, the suspected suicide bomber of the TU-134 last week.

According to the leading Russian daily "Izvestia", Roza Nagayeva and Mariam Taburova arrived in Moscow together with Aminat Nagayeva and Sazita Jebirhanova, suspected of bombing the TU-135.

On Aug. 22 the four women set out from a Chechen town of Nasaviurt in an unknown direction. What happened to Aminat and Sazita is common knowledge, while the whereabouts of Roza and Mariam is still anybody's guess. Quite possible that they, too, arrived in Moscow.

"If this version is correct, one of them could have been the suicide bomber at the "Riga" Metro station, and the other is expected to perpetrate still another act of violence in the near future," concludes "Izvestia".

A sensational new suspicion by the Russian intelligence has it that the identification documents of at least two of the five suspected women suicide bombers were stolen after their legal and evidently innocent owners were murdered by the terrorists in Chechnya.

The Russian security forces are on the alert for an expected another blast in Moscow, with the fifth woman-suicide bomb "ticking somewhere in the capital," reports "Gazeta.ru", a minor Russian newspaper based in Moscow. The Russian Federal Security Services (ФСБ) are convinced that a group of five Chechen women terrorists are responsible for the four outrages, namely the Kashir highway "distraction explosion" prior to the take off of the TU-134 and the TU-154 airliners also attributed to them, and now the "Riga" Metro station.

According to "Gazeta.ru" the terrorist (supposedly Roza Nagayeva, sister of Aminat Nagayeva, the TU-134 bomber) planned to enter the station and explode the bomb there, but, seeing the thorough body search of the entering people by police, decided to act outside the station amidst the thick crowd. The blast tore the woman to shreds. 14 other passers-by were killed and 44 injured.
