Worries continue at Mexican border

The arrest of a woman "of Pakistani origin", who crossed into Texas illegally across the Mexican border, has heightened concerns about the increased flow of non-Hispanic illegals into the United States. According to reports from several sources, the woman, Farida Goolam Mohammad Ahmed, was carrying $7,000 in cash, a South African passport with several pages torn out, and a flight ticket to NY.

The woman was arrested on July 19 at the McAllen Texas airport, after the missing pages in her passport caught the attention of officials. In the ensuing inspection, they discovered that some of the clothing in her luggage was wet and dirty, leading to the possibility that she had recently crossed the Rio Grande river that divides Texas from Mexico. According to officials, she had travelled to Mexico via UAE and London. She is being held on immigration charges, but it has been reported that the FBI is investigating the possibililty that she has links with radical Islamic groups in Pakistan.

The links between her travel route, the amount of cash she was carrying, her ticket to New York, and the reports of possible attacks against large corporate targets in the US have created a web of possibilties that were considered sufficiently suspicious to open an FBI investigation on her connections and plans.

According to information obtained from various sources, at least 1.2 million illegal immigrants have crossed the Mexican border during the last 9 months. Of these, only 420,000 have been apprehended. Among those caught, over 5,500 were non-Hispanics, including many Arabic-speaking males (see "Politically Correct and Dangerous" on this website).
